An update

I have been remiss with my postings, and am grateful Natasha posts her fabulous tutorials!  There have been several new products since my last post, and you can see them to the right of this post, and if you want a closer view, you can just click on the image and it will take you to the shop where there is a description and examples.  But I always love to show you samples of my team's work, so a handful are posted below.  I am planning a blog post of some of my customer's artwork in the near future, how cool is that? Several people gave me approval to show you some of their own artwork using my kits, and I could not be more proud. So keeping checking out my posts to see what some of YOU are doing in the art world.

But for this week, here are some pages from my fabulous CT team, whom I could not imagine doing without.  Thank you Beth, Gina, Judy, Hayley, and Ona you are the best!!

Blending Ideas

Hello :) As you can see I've been doing a spot of blending! No surprises there I know :) I've chosen one photograph, one blend mode; colour burn, and a variety of different papers. The elements are essentially the same in each layout, just a slight difference in one due to the paper used. For each layout it is the paper that changes.

Blending is a great way to liven up a photo, create quick layouts and create pages that attract the eye. I never fail to be amazed at what can be created with the right photo, paper and blend. I've used Lynne's amazing kit Gone Fishing.

The paper is layered at the bottom, then the elements (for which I reduced the transparency on some or blended with the paper for the others), and the photo is the top layer. The colour burn blend mode is applied to the photo. All of these looks were created by just changing the paper. The Creativity sheets below show which paper I used and the final effect. Why not grab a photo of your own and have a go too :)

I'm loving getting creative with Lynne's kits and I know you all are too, I've been spying great layouts in the galleries. But we'd also love you to share them here too :) We'd love you to leave a comment and link in comments below. Have a great week scrapping and I'll catch up again soon, bye for now, Natasha :)

Blending Technique with Lily Pond

Hi :) We are just loving the layouts in the galleries that we are seeing. Every day brings more wonderful pages and ideas. Don't forget that we'd love you share a link to a layout using Lynne's kits, so go ahead and add a comment and link in comments below :)

I've been having a play with Lynne's latest kits, Lily Pond and Just a Thought WordArt and Brushes. Lily pond is just gorgeous with its delicate colours, wonderful mix of papers and beautiful embellishments, I just couldn't resist it!

Blending is just one of those techniques that I couldn't do without and today's layout starts out by blending a photo taken with my phone camera into a soft dreamy paper. Take a look at the creativity sheet below to see how I created my Lily Pond layout.

Discover Journaling

Hello! I've hope that everyone has had a great creative time since my last post :)

Today's post is going to take a little look at journaling. I like to add journaling to pages, especially to complement my travel layouts. In this post I give examples of two styles that I use, and also my personal travel journaling tips.

All my layouts use the amazing bundle, Discover by Lynne Anzelc Designs. I just love this kit :)

In my two travel pages I remember visits to Bosham, which is a little place in West Sussex, England that I love to visit. I haven't visited for a few years and I don't have any notes written from when I have visited in the past. However, I have some photos and memories. My journaling is therefore based on these things.

In this layout I've included some general thoughts, and what I've remembered about my trips to Bosham. The idea for this page is that the journaling, along with the photos, gives an idea about the place, with some personal insight/thoughts.

In my second layout I've shared my daydreams about the place. In this context I use the word imagine, because that is what I am doing. This page partly relies on the photo as I have not described the beautiful house, that is not what I am conveying with my words. Instead the photo shows you what the beautiful house is like. On this page the words are used for my feelings and thoughts, not factual or descriptive place information.

I thought it would be fun to share my personal travel journaling tips as a page layout and I found Lynne's word art a perfect complement to this page too :)

To all the photos I added a poster edges effect using Photoshop Elements, I love this effect and I've used it quite often in the past. I think it adds a little bit of an old fashioned postcard look to photos.

Do you have any top tips for journaling? If so we'd love to hear them, just share in the comments :) I'll be back soon with some more creative ideas, bye for now, Natasha :)

Vintage Scrapping 1

Hi, I hope that everyone has had a great scrapping week. For the last couple of weeks I've been getting creative with vintage kits. I am just loving it! The best thing about vintage is that you can scrap it in so many styles. For this quick post I am taking a look at layers and more layers.

I've used the following wonderfully vintage kits by Lynne Anzelc Designs to create my pages:
First I select the background paper. Now before adding the next layers I actually add my top layer. I position the elements where I roughly want them before filling in the gaps with overlays and brushes underneath them. The last thing I do is position all the elements in their final places. Just keep layering until you find the right balance for the page you are creating. Don't be afraid to just try things. Below are some of my layouts as examples.

Of course the other great thing about vintage is that is works well with old photos. The photo in the layout above is an old family one. On this layout I have also included an overlay border and then layered up on top of that too, giving another dimension to the page.
  • My first layout uses: A Scrap of Vintage and A Scrap of Vintage WordArt and Brushes
  • My second layout uses: A Scrap of Vintage, A Scrap of vintage WordArt and Brushes and Vintage Journal Cards
  • My third layout uses: Timeless and Timeless Quotes and Brushes
Checkout the following posts here on Lynne's blog to see some amazing layouts created with Lynne's vintage style kits:
As always, we'd love to see your creations with Lynne's kits, either fully or partly. So please feel free to share a link with us in the comments section. Until next time, bye for now, Natasha :)
